Data and AI Architect
What we are looking for
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Data Architect with a strong background in consulting, data architecture, integration strategies, and enterprise data planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Microsoft ecosystem, leading data and AI-driven initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments. This role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring seamless collaboration across business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Strategy:
- Design, lead and implement enterprise-grade data solutions within Azure/ Microsoft Fabric, design and solution medallion architecture to transform customer’s data estate.
- Can lead Enterprise data strategy vision engagements with CloudServus customers.
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric components (such as its unified data lakehouse or medallion architecture principles) to create a cohesive and agile data platform.
Cloud Integration & Migration:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines that support both traditional BI reporting and machine learning workflows using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics Integration:
- Architect end-to-end machine learning pipelines utilizing Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services to enable real-time model training and inference.
- Develop strategies for embedding predictive analytics and AI-driven insights directly into enterprise data solutions.
Consulting and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a technical lead during the sales pursuit process
- Gather business requirements, create work task estimates, participate in writing statements of work, and RFPs
- Act as a customer facing, project lead and trusted advisor
- Advise customers on best practices and driving data-driven decision-making for clients.
Data and AI Solutions
- Experience working with Fabric, Azure AI, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, and other AI tools to develop intelligent data solutions and drive predictive analytics.
- Ability to guide the customer's strategy around AI – acting as a thought leader and leading visionary conversations
Data Governance and Security
- Establish best practices for data quality, lineage, and compliance, preferably utilizing Microsoft Purview profiling.
- Implement governance frameworks that cover both structured and unstructured data across Azure services and Microsoft Fabric environments
Performance Optimization
- Monitor and fine-tune data workflows and machine learning processes to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness in cloud and hybrid settings.
- Use insights to proactively recommend CloudServus customers improvement opportunities for both cost savings and operational excellence.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work cross-functionally with business leaders, engineers, and analysts, while mentoring junior data professionals.
Microsoft EcoSystem Expertise:
- Leverage Microsoft tools and technologies to build and optimize data and AI solutions in Azure environments.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data strategy, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Strong consulting experience with the ability to engage and influence business stakeholders.
- Expertise in Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, etc.).
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Fabric (Onelake, Data Factory, Lakehouses, Power BI)
- Proficiency in data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, and API-based data interactions.
- Experience in data modeling, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, analytics, and AI-driven solutions within Azure.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Microsoft certifications (Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar) are a plus.
- Experience working in enterprise consulting or professional services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in AI, machine learning, and data science applications within Azure (Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, OpenAI, etc.).
- Familiarity with AI-driven analytics and predictive modeling.
- Experience with Power BI, AI/ML solutions, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
Additional Role Details:
- Ideally, contract-to-hire. But will consider a full-time hire for the right candidate
