Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010 Versions

Well, now that the Forefront line of products is being discontinued by Microsoft, I thought I would publish a Versions table for the Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010.  Microsoft’s lack of guidance on a replacement for TMG has lead many customers to continue using and installing new TMG 2010 servers, so it’s worthwhile to know the latest versions.

One thing I have noticed and love (sarcasm!) is how Microsoft doesn’t even follow their normal versioning practice (RTM = 1.0.0, SP1 = 1.1.0, SP2 = 1.2.0…).  Also, not only are there Software Updates (SU), but there are also Rollup Updates (RU) for the Software Updates.  It’s update overload.  Hopefully this table helps navigate the confusion.

To find the version of TMG, open the ForeFront TMG 2010 Management console.  Click on Help – About Forefront Threat Management Gateway.
